WELCOME / VITAJTE to my multilingual and multifaceted BIBA World! More than words, more than languages. I'm here for the conversations that connect people, challenge perspectives and inspire change! I am Bibiana Jordan- Horváth, a Chartered Linguist, Intercultural Consultant, Mediator, Communication facilitator, Public Service Interpreter, Educator and Empowerment Coach, born in then Czechoslovakia and now based in Sheffield and London UK. I have lived and studied though Velvet Revolution 1989 and have seen Berlin wall fall and our countries split in two: Czechia & Slovakia. For over 20 years, my work has centred on people, languages, communication and understanding. I bring together experience in professional interpreting, legal and diplomatic communication, education, mediation, community engagement and advocacy. Through my independent Consultancy business- Kriváň Intercultural UK, I support individuals, professionals, organisations and communities to overcome communication barriers, navigate difficult situations, resolve conflict and find constructive ways forward. I believe in creating spaces where people feel heard, respected and able to reflect, away from the noise, pressure and expectations of others. Sometimes people need someone to listen without judgement, help them see a situation differently and explore their next steps with confidence. I have worked in or provided professional services to multicultural schools and Human Trafficking charities promoting positive integration and protecting vulnerable people. Teaching and guiding pupils or service users to use language skills as the tool for identity and for positive society contribution. My work encompasses interpersonal and workplace mediation, conflict resolution coaching, group coaching facilitation, strategic communication, ESOL conversation groups and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) tutoring. I am particularly passionate about mental health awareness, trauma-informed practice, post-traumatic growth, supporting survivors of violence, restorative justice, access to justice and empowering people to express themselves, understand their rights and have their voices heard. I also work to strengthen community cohesion, intercultural understanding and inclusion, with a particular interest in Central and Eastern European communities, Slovak and Czech heritage and Roma minorities. My community work includes the development of Slovak Sheffield Hub and I also promote intercultural dialogue on our social media pages: Czech & Slovak Connections UK. . As a professional linguist, I specialise in Slovak and Czech, with Russian and English language expertise. I work across legal, police, medical, court and conference interpreting and translation, alongside interpreter mentoring and professional development. I provide expertise and connection to the Roma cultures and communities in the UK and Slovakia/ Czechia. I am a Chartered Linguist and CIOL member, hold DPSI Law Level 6 (2006) and am a Police Approved Interpreter and Translator (PAIT). My wider professional background includes education, NLP-based empowerment and language for business coaching, safeguarding and community advocacy. I enjoy working with businesses and in sport as well as television, media and communications. I believe that communication is more than exchanging words. It is about dignity, understanding, participation and the freedom to express ourselves. I uphold universal dialogue and support community cohesion in all aspects of life. I am happy to champion any cause that promotes non-violent communication, conflict resolution, British and universal values, human rights and intercultural understanding. I can deliver training, mentoring sessions, motivational talks, provide personal or group and also teams coaching segments in your work place, school or any organisation or even take part in your negotiations or business and sports meeting. I have access to private meeting and therapy rooms and I can prepare you for that difficult conversation, business meeting, conference, challenge you are facing or just practice and prepare with you what you wanted to say for some time but could not find words.
